Dark and full-bodied beer, inspired by the Belgian Oud Bruins, produced through a blend of strongly malty young beer and beer aged for 24 months in ex-Merlot oak barrels, with a small addition of cranberries. The acidity resulting from the long aging, balanced by the roundness of the base beer, is accompanied by vinous, balsamic, wood and fruit notes.
